We are looking for a Senior / Lead Harness Engineer (EWIS) who takes ownership, thinks in aircraft-level systems, and enjoys finding pragmatic, fast paths forward in a startup environment.
In this role, you are not "just designing harnesses" — you are shaping how the aircraft is wired, from early architecture decisions through prototype builds and into manufacturable solutions. You will act as the EWIS focal point, interfacing closely with systems, avionics, structures, propulsion, and manufacturing, and helping the team converge on robust, lightweight, and producible solutions.
EWIS is a core backbone of the aircraft and a source of truth for manufacturing. Attention to detail matters — but so does knowing when to move forward, iterate, and improve on the next build.
Tasks
* Own and drive EWIS design and interface requirements across the aircraft (electrical wiring interconnect system)
* Design, optimize, and evolve aerospace harnesses across the full lifecycle, from early concept through prototype and production
* Create and maintain complex harnesses and assemblies in CAD, including routing and integration at aircraft level
* Derive fully dimensioned 2D technical drawings to support manufacturing, inspection, and certification needs
* Actively support manufacturing, integration, and test activities, including hands-on involvement during prototype builds
* Support system development from concept to production, working closely with avionics, propulsion, structures, and operations
* Identify and resolve design, manufacturing, and assembly issues in a pragmatic, solution-oriented manner
Requirements
required:
* Degree in electrical engineering or a comparable level of relevant professional experience
* Solid experience with electrical equipment integration, including grounding and bonding
* Good understanding of manufacturing drawings and harness documentation, including lacing, marking, and BOMs
* Proficiency working with state-of-the-art EWIS tools
* Proficiency in CAD tools, with basic familiarity with PDM/PLM systems
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a pragmatic, target-oriented work style
* Clear and effective communication skills across disciplines and seniority levels
* Eligibility to work in Switzerland (EU/EFTA or equivalent work authorization)
advantageous:
* Experience working with Onshape (CAD)
* Experience working with Altium Designer (CAD), including schematics and scripting
* Professional background in the aerospace or automotive industry, or similarly complex, safety-critical environments
Benefits
Dufour Aerospace is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified individuals regardless of race, sex, gender identity, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
We are looking forward to getting in touch with you.
