Legal Counsel – Employment Law | 12-Month Contract | 80–100%
A leading global organisation in the insurance and financial services sector is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Employment Legal Advisory team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Zurich.
The Opportunity
This is a broad and international role, offering exposure to a wide range of employment law matters. As Legal Counsel, you will support HR and business leaders on topics including employee relations, internal policies, organisational changes, compliance risks, and cross-border employment issues.
You will work in close partnership with legal and HR colleagues globally, helping to shape internal legal frameworks and support strategic projects with practical, business-oriented legal advice.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise on Swiss employment law and cross-border HR matters
* Support restructurings, business transformations, and M&A-related workforce changes
* Contribute to the development of employment policies, processes, and compliance tools
* Collaborate across global legal and HR teams to ensure legal alignment and consistency
* Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions to internal stakeholders
Candidate Profile
* Swiss-qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of experience in employment law
* Previous in-house legal experience preferred, ideally within regulated sectors (insurance, banking, financial services)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Business-fluent English; German or French an advantage
* Strong analytical, pragmatic, and collaborative approach
