Position Overview:
We are looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to strengthen and expand Inova's presence in the Basel life sciences ecosystem.
This is a strategic and entrepreneurial role combining four key dimensions: business development, recruitment of engineering consultants, operational management of a growing business unit, and active participation in the commercialization of Inova's AI-based solutions.
You will drive commercial growth by building strong client partnerships, identifying new project opportunities, and positioning Inova as a trusted consulting and digital innovation partner. In parallel, you will recruit and manage high-level engineering consultants to support our clients' projects, ensuring excellence in delivery and long-term collaboration.
You will also contribute to the promotion, positioning, and deployment of Inova's AI-driven solutions, supporting both clients and consultants in adopting innovative tools that enhance performance and competitiveness.
This role is ideal for a proactive, solution-oriented professional with a strong business mindset and a solid understanding of the life sciences environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Management
Develop and execute a commercial strategy to expand Inova's footprint in the Basel area
Identify, approach, and secure new business opportunities within pharmaceutical and biotech companies
Build and maintain long-term partnerships with key decision-makers
Understand client needs and propose tailored consulting, engineering, and AI-driven solutions
Promote and support the commercialization of Inova's AI-based solutions
Negotiate contracts and ensure sustainable revenue growth
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Identify, attract, and recruit engineering consultants aligned with client project needs
Conduct interviews and assess both technical expertise and cultural fit
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified consultants
Match consultants to projects and ensure successful onboarding
Support consultants in adopting and leveraging Inova's AI-based tools
Business Unit Management
Manage and develop your business unit with full P&L responsibility
Oversee consultants' assignments and ensure high-quality project delivery
Monitor performance, margins, and growth objectives
Act as a problem solver and escalation point for clients and consultants
Contribute to the strategic development of Inova's service and AI solution portfolio
Profile Requirements:
Background in Business, Sales, or a related field
Proven experience in business development, ideally within life sciences or technical consulting
Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotech environment is highly desirable
Interest in digital innovation and AI-driven business solutions
Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong results-oriented approach
Proactive, autonomous, and solution-driven
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
Fluent in German and English (Swiss German is a strong asset)
