About the role
The Assistant Director of Stewardship and Alumni Engagement is a connector, storyteller, and relationship builder at heart. This role is all about forging meaningful connections with alumni, families, and friends of LAS—whether that’s by picking up the phone, chatting at an event, or sharing the inspiring stories that make our community so special.
Working closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement and the Head of School, you’ll help grow our network, engage our community, and inspire support for our programs and initiatives. You’ll travel (sometimes internationally), meet fascinating people, and help shape the future of LAS through authentic connection and compelling storytelling.
What You’ll Do
Build Relationships & Inspire Engagement
* Get to know alumni, parents, and prospective donors—and keep them connected to LAS in ways that feel genuine and lasting.
* Seek out and share the inspiring stories of our alumni, ensuring they’re celebrated in Panorama magazine and across our communications.
* Work with leadership to create opportunities for deeper engagement and increased participation across our community.
Lead & Collaborate on Advancement Initiatives
* Partner on key fundraising efforts, including the LAS Impact Fund, Faculty Appeal, Capital Campaigns, and the Senior Class Gift Initiative.
* Support and guide the Advancement Associates, ensuring accurate donor data and smooth office operations.
* Contribute to compelling campaign messaging and creative marketing materials.
Elevate Alumni Communications & Social Media
* Develop engaging content and strategies for alumni newsletters, emails, and social channels.
* Manage LAS alumni accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to grow reach and strengthen connections.
* Serve as the liaison for our Global Family Council and International Council, helping them feel informed, valued, and involved.
Plan Events That Bring People Together
* Help plan and attend events around the world, creating experiences that leave people feeling proud to be part of LAS.
Be Part of Campus Life
* Support residential life through duty rotations and meaningful connections with students in the dorms.
* Pitch in on other Advancement projects as needed—because at LAS, we’re all in this together.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should be a dynamic, flexible, and driven professional committed to excellence and able to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment. They should have experience in relationship management in one of the following areas: fundraising, events, admissions, and/or alumni relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. The ideal candidate can collaborate effectively in a team environment or independently, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks. Candidates must be willing to work some nights and weekends, and experience in an independent or international school is preferred. Salary, benefits, ski pass, and room and board are provided.

Qualifications (continued)
* Fluent English speaker (some French preferred but not required)
* Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred)
* Boarding school or residential program experience is a plus, but not required
* Proficiency with donor database management is a plus, but not required
* Swiss/EU citizenship or valid Swiss work permit is preferred, but not required (please note: if applying for this position without Swiss or EU citizenship, the applicant must have several years of relevant experience and / or a Master’s degree in a relevant field to be considered)
