For a leading asset manager, we are seeking a legal counsel to provide advice on legal matters concerning the launch of Swiss fund products and regulatory affairs. The Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting fund contracts, agreements, and articles of incorporation, among other tasks. Additionally, the successful candidate will collaborate with senior colleagues within the Legal department and business teams, as well as negotiate with third parties. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both German and English are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide advice on the development of solutions, drafting of offering documentation, contract negotiation, and regulatory submissions for funds and investment vehicles domiciled in Switzerland and Europe
2. Draft legal documents, such as fund contracts, prospectuses, and articles of incorporation
3. Prepare submissions, arrange filings, and serve as the main point of contact for regulators, particularly FINMA
4. Stay updated on regulatory developments in Switzerland and Europe; conduct research on various legal and regulatory questions
5. Provide strategic support and contribute to decision-making processes
Qualifications:
6. A university degree in Law
7. A minimum of 5 years' experience in the financial sector, either in an in-house role or in private practice
8. Strong technical knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to Swiss fund structures and investment vehicles domiciled in Switzerland
9. Excellent drafting skills, communication skills, and attention to detail are essential
10. Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to drive projects and meet set timelines
11. Fluency in both written and verbal English and German is required; proficiency in any other European language is beneficial
