Compliance Officer – Transaction Monitoring (temporary)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Transaction Monitoring Specialist to join our client’s compliance team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring financial transactions to detect and report suspicious activities related to money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring financial transactions to detect and report suspicious activities related to money laundering, fraud, and other financial crimes. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct daily transaction monitoring to identify suspicious activities and potential financial crime risks
2. Investigate alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems and escalate cases as needed
3. Prepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in line with regulatory requirements
4. Maintain detailed documentation of investigations and findings
5. Collaborate with internal teams such as Risk, Compliance, and Operations to enhance monitoring processes
6. Assist in tuning and optimizing transaction monitoring rules and thresholds to reduce false positives
7. Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry developments, and emerging risks in financial crime compliance
8. Provide recommendations for process improvements and risk mitigation strategies
9. Support regulatory audits and internal reviews related to financial crime compliance
Qualifications and Experience:
10. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field
11. 3+ years of experience in transaction monitoring, AML compliance, or financial crime investigation
12. Strong knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations and local regulatory requirements
13. Experience working with transaction monitoring systems
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
16. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
