The Municipality of Vevey is announcing the position of Head of the Urban Cleanliness Sector at the Department of Public Works, Green Spaces, and Maintenance. The Department of Public Works, Green Spaces, and Maintenance is responsible for maintaining public areas, cleanliness, waste management, green spaces, parks, the cemetery, ports, mechanics, road infrastructures, and public lighting. In this context, you will lead a team of about thirty and can count on the support of two to ensure daily management of the urban cleanliness sector. Your mission will play a decisive role in the ongoing improvement of the living environment for the residents of the City of Vevey.In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following main tasks:- Oversee the activities of the sector, including waste collection, cleaning, snow removal, maintenance and development works of public areas, as well as the maintenance of ports, structures, fountains, and street furniture.- Ensure the overall management of the city's waste, from collection to control, including ongoing production and actions, and manage the human and financial resources of the sector with about thirty people to ensure optimal activity.- Lead and coordinate sector projects, ensuring their follow-up and maintaining regular reporting to the department management.- Implement and monitor municipal decisions, in close collaboration with management.- Participate in activities requiring the sector’s intervention.- Supervise tasks, ensuring the drafting of reports, opinions, and proposals intended for political authorities.- Contribute to budget preparation related to the projects of the service during various internal or external meetings.This position requires a higher education degree in a technical, management, or public branch, federal certificate or equivalent. Confirmed experience in a management role within a technical service or public sector. Solid experience in personnel management and team leadership, with the ability to unite. Mastery of project and change management, including processes and ongoing improvements. Knowledge in urban waste management and, if possible, public procurement. Excellent command of French, both spoken and written. Analytical mindset, rigor, and sense of priorities. Proficiency in tools (MS Office). Sensitivity to sustainable development.
