Market Data IT Governance Lead
to assume end-to-end accountability for the bank's market data platforms and associated services.
This role combines IT service governance, vendor and licensing oversight, cost control, and stakeholder alignment across front-office, trading, risk, analytics, finance, compliance, and IT functions.
The position is business-critical and commercially significant, given the regulatory exposure and substantial cost footprint of market data across the organization.
Responsibilities
Service Governance & Platform Accountability
* Assume full ownership of the Information Platform and Market Data Services landscape
* Ensure stable, compliant, and performance-driven service delivery
* Act as the central authority for service quality, risk management, and continuous improvement
* Apply ITIL-based service management practices to maintain operational excellence
Contract & License Management
* Oversee all market data contracts, licensing agreements, and subscription frameworks
* Ensure strict compliance with vendor terms and exchange regulations
* Support internal and external audits related to data usage and licensing
* Manage renewal cycles, pricing structures, entitlement models, and vendor relationships
* Prepare and submit mandatory usage and compliance reports
This role carries direct responsibility for mitigating contractual and audit risk across the organization.
Cost Management & Optimization
* Identify and implement cost-efficiency initiatives across sourcing, licensing, and consumption
* Analyze usage patterns and eliminate redundancies
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for business units
* Establish transparent and structured cost allocation mechanisms
Given the scale of market data expenditure in banking, this role has measurable financial impact.
Stakeholder Alignment
* Partner closely with Front Office, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and IT
* Align market data services with evolving business and strategic priorities
* Act as a trusted advisor on governance, efficiency, and best practices
Profile
* 5+ years of experience in market data management and/or IT service management within banking or financial services
* Strong understanding of market data licensing models, vendor contracts, and regulatory implications
* Practical experience applying ITIL-based service management frameworks
* Strong analytical and financial acumen
* Ability to prioritize effectively and manage diverse stakeholders
* High level of integrity, accountability, and ownership
* Independent and structured working style
* Fluency in English and German
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
