 
        
        Commissioning Engineer Project / Lead Commissioning (all genders)
Bertrams is an independent, internationally oriented engineering company in the field of chemical plants. About 120 people work at our headquarters in Muttenz near Basel and subsidiaries in Beijing, Shanghai, and Mumbai. We are world market leaders in caustic soda treatment and recycling.
We are looking for a committed, hands‑on Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning of complex industrial systems for international projects. You will lead final testing, start‑up, and hand‑over processes at customers’ sites worldwide, ensuring smooth and professional project conclusion. Experience in automation is a plus.
Responsibilities
 * Plan, execute, and coordinate commissioning activities at customer sites (international)
 * Conduct system testing, troubleshoot issues, and optimize on‑site performance
 * Provide training to customer personnel on site
 * Ensure proper hand‑over and documentation of the commissioned systems
 * Collaborate closely with internal departments (Engineering, Automation, Service) and support the development and improvement of automation solutions
Your profile
 * Completed technical training in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field
 * Proven experience in the commissioning of technical systems or industrial equipment
 * Familiarity with PLC systems (e.g. TIA Portal, Step7, WinCC) is an advantage
 * CAD experience (e.g. EPLAN) is a plus
 * Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
 * Willingness to travel extensively internationally
 * Independent, structured and solution‑oriented way of working
 * Hands‑on mentality, customer focus, and technical curiosity
