VAT Vakuumventile AG
Our Team In Haag, Switzerland Is Looking For You
Development Engineer – Flow Control in Vacuum (100%)
YOUR CHALLENGES
The manufacturing of a high-end microchip requires over 1000 production steps. Vacuum valves and gas flow control devices are critical components as they are close to the semiconductor wafer and influence process performance. Semiconductor fabs like Intel, Samsung, or TSMC aim for higher productivity and yield, increasingly leveraging data from manufacturing processes to enhance performance. Smart, connected vacuum components are essential for smart semiconductor manufacturing, enabling predictive maintenance and increased productivity.
Advancements in the semiconductor industry and the move to nano-meter structures demand precise control of process gases. We seek an experienced specialist with a passion for fluid dynamics, control theory, and system modeling to develop the necessary control technology.
In Addition Your Responsibilities Are
* Development of advanced control algorithms for fast processes using VAT’s existing gas delivery and process control technology
* Technical project leadership: defining and aligning specifications with stakeholders, creating concepts, developing and testing prototypes, and verifying functionality with final products
* Design, perform, and document experiments (DoE), presenting results systematically
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams within VAT R&D and external partners
* Occasional on-site support for new applications/products at customer sites
YOUR COMPETENCIES
* Engineering Degree (MSc or PhD) in control engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, physics, or similar
* Knowledge of fluid dynamics and control system theory
* Over 3 years of experience with gas sensing and control technology, including MFC, MFM, GFC components and their applications
* Over 3 years of experience with advanced control algorithms and modeling in industrial gas flow systems
* Practical experience with deploying control systems on embedded hardware is a plus
* Knowledge of fluid dynamics theory for vacuum applications is advantageous
* Hands-on, systematic approach, creative problem solver, team player
