For a small commodity trading company primarily engaged in the trading of coal, petcoke, and other bulk commodities in Pfäffikon, Kanton Schwyz.
The role will support the end-to-end execution of physical commodity trades, ensuring smooth coordination between traders, counterparties, logistics providers, and financial institutions.
Responsibilities
Manage and execute post-trade operations for physical commodity
Coordinate the end-to-end global trade chain from contract execution to final delivery
Prepare, review, and manage trade documentation including contracts, invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates, and insurance documents
Prepare and follow P&L.
Handle trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit (LCs), amendments, etc.
Ensure compliance with agreed Incoterms and contractual terms
Coordinate with ship owners, charterers, agents, surveyors and ports
Monitor shipments, loading/discharge operations, and delivery schedules
Calculate laytime, demurrage, and despatch
Maintain accurate records and update internal systems with trade and shipment data.
Identify operational risks and proactively resolve discrepancies or delays Requirements
2-3 years of experience in commodity trading / shipping operations
Working knowledge of Incoterms and their application in commodity contracts
Familiarity with trade finance instruments, especially Letters of Credit (LCs)
General shipping and logistics knowledge, preferably in dry bulk commodities
Ability to calculate laytime, demurrage, and despatch
High level of precision and accuracy with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to handle multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously
