Secondary French A & B Teacher

Secondary French A & B Teacher – 100% – 2‑year contract – August 2026
Responsibilities:
* Deliver the teaching and learning of the French language (A and B) throughout the secondary school effectively
* Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of the lower secondary, IGCSE and IBDP French curricula
* Liaise with curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
* Promote the health and safety of assigned classes
* Participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training/meetings
* Contribute to a programme of trips, excursions, field trips and extracurricular activities
* Enhance the professional standing of the teaching body
* Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between the French department and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, competitions, etc.
Qualifications and skills:
* Bachelor or Masters degree in the French language with QTS status or equivalent
* Proven track record of excellence in teaching with at least three years’ experience, ideally in an international environment
* The ability to teach an additional language (Spanish or German) is a significant asset
* Knowledge and proven experience of teaching French at an IB Diploma and IGCSE level is an asset
* Excellent communication skills and team player
* Native French speaker
* Ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload
* Strong organisational skills and use of technology for administration and teaching
* Ability to inspire mixed‑culture and ability classes by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
* Ability to support student needs in learning and pastoral matters
* Clear criminal record and valid work permit are an asset
