Part‑time Job: Solar Electric Motorcycle Mechanics
E.Ride GmbH is a young startup developing battery packs and electric motorcycles for emerging economies in East Africa. We need support on a part‑time basis (one day per week or subject to availability/interest) to join our Zürich team of four and work on the metal parts, mechanics, frame, cables, etc. of our electric motorcycle prototype at our space near Hardbrücke.
We are looking for:
* Young mechanical engineer (female/male) from ZHAW/ETH/Polymech/Lehre or equivalent.
* Hands‑on assembly, welding, soldering, construction, 3D printing – you will get your hands dirty.
* Organized: Can plan tasks, procure, sort, store materials, run testing campaigns, and manage time if in an education program.
* Self‑driven: Schedule work independently with minimal supervision.
* English or German speaking.
* Team‑player: Option to work in our Zambia office for a few months.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in design, fabrication, and assembly of motorcycle frames and metal components.
* Perform welding (MIG), drilling, bending, and assembly tasks.
* Use CNC plasma cutter and FDM 3D printing for part production.
* Maintain basic motorcycle maintenance tasks such as chain tensioning and brake replacement.
* Ensure safety during all operations.
Required Skills
* Good understanding of mechanics.
* Hands‑on experience in CAD (Fusion 360 preferred, other CAD acceptable).
* Sheet metal work experience.
* Basic understanding of electronics, batteries and soldering.
Optional Skills
* Basic motorcycle maintenance.
What We Offer
* CHF 700 per month for a 20 % position (about one day per week), commensurate with skill level.
