Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.

This role is contributing to the overall success of ABB PMA
You will be mainly accountable for:
Independent implementation of purchasing projects: Determination of requirements, supplier selection, negotiation, order processing and scheduling up to series delivery
Management of purchasing projects from kick-off to handover to operational purchasing
Identification and analysis of procurement requirements for projects, including the entire technical and administrative processing, in cooperation with various specialist departments and execution of order processing/scheduling through to series delivery.
Executing purchasing and logistics strategies to support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
Designing and implementing plans and effective strategies for local sourcing of products/materials to reach business targets.
Supporting in implementing effective local sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to meet current and future business requirements.
Applying and implementing procurement standards, tools, and processes in your area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.

Qualifications for the role
Completed technical or commercial training with further training in purchasing (e.g. qualified purchasing manager)
- Several years of experience in project purchasing of technical components in an industrial environment
- Knowledge of strategic purchasing is an advantage
- Very good knowledge of SAP (MM module) and MS Office
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
Assertiveness and a confident manner
- Analytical, networked thinking and experience in process and project management
- Negotiating skills and a solid basic understanding of financial contexts
- Outgoing and trustworthy personality with strong interpersonal skills
- Initiative and the ability to develop and implement ideas
