In the position of the Navigation Software Design Engineer at u-blox you will be responsible for the heart of u-blox’s cutting edge positioning devices. With your practical experience in embedded computing and sound background knowledge in the domain of geodesy, mathematics or physics you will be a specialist for dedicated GNSS software applications running on power- and performance-optimized ARM processors. With your expertise in the field of embedded systems as integrated in our GNSS module devices you will be continuously developing and refining embedded navigation algorithms and strategies.
Tasks
1. Take part in the complete development process which includes design, implementation and verification of embedded receiver firmware
2. Create technical documentation for developed functional blocks and features
3. Implementation of new features according to a requirement specification and project plan
4. Assistance in definition and verification phase of new features
5. Analysis of feedback or nonconformities
6. Providing workarounds and development of bug fixes
Profile
7. M.Sc. or PhD in Informatics, Geodesy or Applied Mathematics
8. Knowledge of GNSS technology and related technologies such as statistics, estimation theory, Kalman filtering, satellite orbit calculation and orbit prediction
9. Experience in developing embedded firmware for integrated systems
10. Scientific and engineering skills such as problem solving, software debugging, data analysis, statistics, mathematical and physical models
11. Programming languages: C (preferably on embedded systems)C++, Python, PerlGit, Subversion or other version control softwareMS Visual Studio Code or similar development environmentMatlab or Octave
12. Flexible team player, with ability and motivation to work as part of a bigger project
13. Very good communication and analytical skills
14. Fluent in English
15. Willingness to travel occasionally
