We're hiring a
Senior Business Analyst
for a mortgage transformation project at a major Swiss retail bank in Zurich. In this role, you will join a team of Business Analysts responsible for redesigning mortgage processes, translating business needs into technical requirements, and coordinating stakeholders across Sales, Credit Risk, Operations, and IT.
This is a 4-month contract starting mid-January 2026, with strong possibilities of extension.
Responsibilities:
* Map end-to-end mortgage processes from customer inquiry through credit assessment to loan disbursement
* Write technical requirements as user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for IT development teams
* Design customer journeys and service blueprints for mortgage advisory and application workflows
* Analyze data and KPIs to identify bottlenecks and measure process improvements
* Facilitate workshops with Sales, Credit Risk, Compliance, and IT to align on solutions
* Create specifications for banking systems and CRM interfaces
* Design and manage pilots to test new processes before full rollout
* Manage project backlog, prioritize features, and ensure delivery stays on track
Must Have:
* Deep knowledge of Swiss mortgage business: affordability calculations, loan-to-value ratios, amortization requirements (1st and 2nd mortgages), interest models (fixed rate, SARON), early repayment rules
* 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in retail banking or financial services consulting
* Experience with retail banking processes: credit assessment, advisory models, CRM funnels
* Understanding of core banking systems and how they integrate with CRM platforms
* Fluent German (written and spoken)
* Independent, structured working style with ability to drive projects forward
Nice to have:
* Previous experience at a Swiss retail bank
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements for mortgage lending
* Familiarity with specific banking platforms (Avaloq, Finnova, Olympic, Temenos)
* IREB, CBAP, or Agile/Scrum certifications
* Experience with data analysis tools and experiment design
