IMPORTANT: This is an in-office position. Applicants must currently live in or near Lucerne, Switzerland. Candidates must be fluent in both German and English; French is a plus.

smartNsales AG is a Swiss B2B Marketplace built for the CPG sector.

The smartNsales Marketplace is a booking platform where brands reserve shelf space, promotional slots, and in-store activations at retail locations. Locations earn revenue, brands get distribution reach.

We are looking for a Head of Marketplace & Growth to own the smartNsales marketplace as a business unit.

This is the person who wakes up every day thinking about supply, demand, growth, product and execution. The role sits at the intersection of product, sales, and operations. You are not a coordinator. You are the operator who makes the marketplace move.

You will work closely with the field sales team, absorb market feedback, and translate it into concrete priorities. You will manage key account locations directly, keep brands active and growing on the platform, and drive the product roadmap in close collaboration with the founders and the development team. When something is broken or slow, you fix it.

Tasks

Marketplace Growth
Own supply and demand across Switzerland. Directly manage mid‑tier key account locations to grow their presence and activity on the platform. Build and maintain brand relationships to keep them active and engaged.

Product and Operations
Drive product development and go‑to‑market execution based on a jointly defined roadmap. Ensure alignment between the development team and sales. Lead marketplace operations including Stripe payment flows, onboarding processes, and platform administration.

Metrics and Performance
Own the core marketplace metrics: GMV, take rate, listing quality, and supply/demand balance by region. Pull your own numbers and act on them without waiting for a report.

Team
Manage and develop the operations and administrative person supporting marketplace execution day to day.


Requirements

Must-have:

* 4 to 8 years of experience in a marketplace, B2B platform, or distribution environment
* Operator mentality meaning you take ownership and get things done
* Comfortable with data and able to pull your own numbers
* Commercially driven and not afraid to pick up the phone to close an onboarding or resolve a friction point
* Enough product instinct to speak directly with developers and challenge priorities constructively
* Fluent in German and English; French is a plus.
* You care about real outcomes, not process for its own sake
* You work hard, take ownership, and want to make a significant impact at an early‑stage company.

Nice-to-have:

* Experience in CPG, retail, or field sales environments
* Familiarity with marketplace metrics and commission‑based business models
* Previous experience in a startup or scale‑up, not only corporate roles.
