Presentation
We are looking for a technician to join the new group of Dr. Ella Hartenian in the Department of Immunobiology at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland. Our laboratory conducts research on how the immune system defends itself against viral infection and we are looking for an independent and motivated individual to carry out an independent line of research. The ideal candidate will have research experience that allows them to hit the ground running. He or she will also be responsible for supporting ongoing projects in the lab, maintaining lab stocks and participating in group lab meetings.
Job information
Expected start date in position: March 1st 2025, or as agreed upon.
Contract length: 1 year with the possibility of renewing.
Activity rate: 100%.
Workplace: In person at the Department of Immunobiology, Biopole, Epalinges.
Your responsibilities
* Performing molecular biology, virology and cell culture assays.
* Analyzing collected data, troubleshooting and performing follow-up experiments.
* Maintaining cells and viral stocks.
* Maintaining a lab notebook.
* Participating in lab meetings, including giving presentations.
Your qualifications
* Certificat fédéral de capcité (CFC) in biology or equivalent experience.
* Strong interest in science and academic research.
* Ability to conduct experiments independently.
* Strong personal motivation.
* Good communication skills.
* Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
* Detail-oriented and fast learner.
