Position Summary
The Production Technology Technical Director serves as a senior technical authority and strategic leader within Ad Terra. This role blends deep expertise in production technology with client-facing leadership, technical mastery, and internal capability development. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership in well performance, production optimization, artificial lift, well integrity, well design and preparation of well interventions —driving technical excellence across Ad Terra's projects and supporting business development initiatives.
Responsibilities
* As the company's principal authority on production technology: review, challenge, and validate technical work to uphold Ad Terra's reputation for technical excellence.
* Exercise final technical judgment in complex or critical production technology challenges where client value and project direction depend on expert calls.
* Lead or contribute to the preparation and review of well proposals, ensuring consistency with subsurface understanding, operational feasibility, and production objectives.
* Design and oversee well testing programs, including flow testing, interference testing, and production data interpretation to refine reservoir and well performance models.
* Deliver expert input on completion design, artificial lift selection, and flow assurance strategies.
* Oversee the preparation of integrated production models, their ever-green maintenance, and their utilization in support decision making for production optimisation, well intervention and surface facilities debottlenecking.
* Development and adaptation of wells and reservoir management systems such as production technology workflows, digital well models, and integrated surveillance systems according to customer needs.
* Support business development activities, identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and contributing to proposals and technical presentations.
* Represent Ad Terra at industry conferences and technical forums, reinforcing the firm's leadership in production technology and integrated subsurface engineering.
* Mentor and coach engineers and project managers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
* Contribute to recruitment, training, and competency development within the production technology discipline.
* Ensure alignment of production technology initiatives with Ad Terra's broader objectives, sustainability values, and client commitments.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
* Master's degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering, Production Technology, or related Subsurface Engineering disciplines.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in production technology, well performance, and operations engineering.
* Demonstrated expertise in well design, completion and intervention planning, artificial lift systems, well testing, and production optimization.
* Proven ability to address the full spectrum of production engineering challenges—from concept through execution and performance improvement.
* Track record of adapting and implementing well and reservoir management processes.
* Strong client-facing and business development skills, ideally within a consulting or advisory environment.
* Excellent communication skills in English (French and other languages a plus).
* Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, managing, and developing technical teams.
* Recognized as a thought leader in production technology, with publications, conference presentations, or industry recognition.
* Strong network within the energy and subsurface sectors.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to contribute to Ad Terra's growth, innovation, and technical positioning.
* Willingness to relocate to Geneva.
