Company Description
TransFollow is a fast‑growing SaaS product owned by Viaservice, leading the digitalisation of eCMR and consignment notes across Europe. The company has reached a pivotal inflection point: product‑market fit is firmly established, and our strategic evolution toward full supply chain visibility and driver empowerment has been validated by significant enterprise wins.
As we accelerate our growth and pursue our commercial ambitions, we are looking for a talented and driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team.
Role Description
The CFO is a member of the management team alongside the COO and CTO, reporting to the Managing Director. The role spans financial leadership, legal and compliance oversight, and board‑level governance. It is structured around three areas of accountability:
1. Financial leadership and governance
Financial strategy and planning
* Lead the annual budget process and mid‑term financial planning in coordination with the MD and management team
* Conduct financial modelling, variance analysis, and scenario planning to support strategic decisions
* Contribute actively to management team discussions — finance as a strategic input, not a back‑office function
* Manage banking relationships and financing
Reporting and controls
* Produce monthly and quarterly financial reviews for board meetings, including forward projections
* Maintain real‑time visibility on cash deployment and investment
* Strengthen internal controls and ensure organisational accountability across both legal entities
* Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and fit for a multi‑entity Swiss/Dutch structure
Accounting, audit, tax and payroll
* Oversee accounting operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards (Swiss GAAP, EU IFRS, etc)
* Lead the annual audit process; primary point of contact for external auditors
* Manage tax compliance across Viaservice SA and Viaservice BV, including transfer pricing where applicable
* Oversee payroll across all entities and geographies, coordinating with HR where needed
* Manage cash flow planning and treasury operations
Team and organisational development
* Directly manage the Accountant as first direct report
* Assess and build out the finance and legal support team as the company scales
* Define and implement finance processes, tools, and systems appropriate to the company's growth stage
2. Legal and contract management
* Manage the external legal counsel relationship for both Viaservice SA and Viaservice BV
* Review all enterprise customer contracts before signature
* Own the signing authority and payment authorisation framework for both legal entities
* Lead the Directors & Officers insurance review and ensure adequate coverage
* Maintain legal compliance with GDPR obligations and applicable Swiss/Dutch corporate law
3. Corporate structure
* Lead the feasibility assessment for establishing legal entities wherever needed, covering employment law, tax, administrative implications, and cost‑benefit
The profile we are looking for
Academic background
* Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or equivalent
* Professional qualification (CPA, CFA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred — not mandatory if compensated by strong hands‑on experience
Professional Experience
A minimum of 10 to 15 years of professional experience overall, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role. The following experience is essential:
* Proven track record in a B2B SaaS, technology, or logistics technology environment — preferably at a growth‑stage company
* Demonstrable experience operating as a standalone or near‑standalone finance function
* Hands‑on experience combining financial management and legal/contract oversight simultaneously
* Track record of installing financial governance in a growing company, reporting frameworks, board packs, audit readiness, budget processes
* Experience managing multi‑entity corporate structures; familiarity with Swiss and/or Dutch entities is a strong advantage
* Experience with shareholder or investor reporting in a growth‑stage or venture‑backed context
* Exposure to legal entity creation and employment structuring across multiple jurisdictions
Skills and competencies
Beyond technical qualifications, the following characteristics define the right candidate:
* Legal instinct — not a qualified lawyer, but someone who reads contracts critically, identifies risk, and knows when to elevate
* Board presence — able to present financial information clearly, answer challenge from experienced directors, and command credibility at senior level
* Speed of installation — able to produce a board‑quality financial report within the first 30 days
* Commercial awareness — understanding that finance exists to enable growth, not constrain it; a genuine contributor to strategic conversations
* Comfort with ambiguity — many processes do not yet exist; this person designs and implements them
* Rigour and reliability — zero tolerance for approximation in reporting; the board must be able to trust the numbers
* Interpersonal effectiveness — able to work across Geneva, Amsterdam, and distributed sales teams with different cultural and operational contexts
Languages
* English — fluent, working language of the board and management team
* French — fluent, working language of the Geneva headquarters
* Another European language — an asset
