The European Broadcasting Union EBU is looking for a Head of Content Communications.
ABOUT THE MEMBER RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS (MRC)DEPARTMENT
The Member Relations and Communications (MRC) Department leads and coordinates the EBU’s Member Relations’ output and efforts, including strategizing, planning for, and implementing activities and services that provide value to Members, assisting Members in maximizing their use of EBU services and promoting membership retention and growth.
The department continuously monitors and assesses membership satisfaction with the EBU, leads the overall marketing of the EBU’s value proposition and contributes to the alignment of EBU activities with Members' needs and priorities.
The department leads external communications, focusing on external affairs strategies and activities that best promote the EBU and public service media (PSM) in general to key stakeholders. Brand strategy and reputation, digital marketing, event production/organization as well as internal communications also fall within the responsibility of the MRC department.
The department also develops and maintains institutional relationships with key intergovernmental and international organisations as well as international broadcasting associations and civil society organisations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
The successful candidate will be leading content creation and marketing across key initiatives and areas (e.g Media, News, Technology & Innovation, Sport) ensuring our content and stories reach key audiences in the most creative and compelling ways while meeting brand requirements.
As EBU Head of Content communications, you will oversee and guide the day-to-day activities of a small and experienced content team. You will ensure prioritization (in line with corporate objectives), visibility and production of content across our platforms to improve our Member experience and communicate the EBU’s value proposition effectively and impactfully.
The role is based in Geneva, and reports into the Director of Member Relations and Communications.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
* 12+ yrs of professional related experience in an international environment
* Knowledge of Europe’s media landscape and passion for public service media and all it stands for.
* Experience of leading and inspiring content teams to deliver high quality output in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience of creating successful marketing communications campaigns and compelling messages for different target audiences.
* Experience in devising, planning and implementing social media content strategies.
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage productions/editorial schedules to ensure deadlines are met, mindful of the small team’s workload.
* Must be English native, with excellent writing and presentation skills. Knowledge of French a plus.
* Excellent social media skills and knowledge of social analytics tools.
* Familiarity with marketing techniques and good understanding of major marketing channels, as well as SEO and CRO.
* Experience with media relations with an existing good network of contacts, preferably with media editors across Europe.
* Attention to detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organisational ability. Ability to work under pressure with last-minute tight deadlines.
* Strong people management experience. Team player.
* Experience in engaging with and advising C-suite executives
* Embraces and applies the EBU staff values.
LANGUAGE - Native-level skills English (spoken and written). Other languages (including French) would be an advantage.
EDUCATION - Master’s Degree, subject: Communications, Political science, Media, Marketing, EU studies.
