Job Description
The core responsibility is to price and peer review complex property Cat deals, and to develop advanced portfolio management analytics / tool / models to steer for a better portfolio.
Overall, your tasks will be as follows:
* Provide actuarial expertise and pricing support for Cat business
* Maintain and enhance best practice on Cat pricing methodology, as well as Cat capital allocation
* Present pricing results and participate in client and broker meetings
* Actively participate in portfolio steering: this includes portfolio optimization, regular underwriting review, and introducing tools (e.g., in R and Shiny) and metrics to support underwriting decision
* Support management decision-making by providing key metrics & results such as our Cat market shares, Cat profitability, renewals performance, rate changes etc.
* Support development of an integrated modelling, pricing and portfolio reporting workflow
Qualifications
You hold a degree in a relevant field and bring ideally 2-5 years of relevant work experience in the (re)insurance industry, and an experience with Cat pricing or modeling (an asset). Furthermore, you possess exceptional analytical mindset and the following skills:
* Advanced skills in R
* Experience with Shiny is an asset
* Good knowledge of insurance and reinsurance terminology and reinsurance treaty terms & conditions
* Fluency in English
* Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Curious, creative, and solution-oriented
