About the role:
The General Services Global Category Manager will oversee the strategic procurement of essential General Services categories, including HR Services, Marketing, IT, Travel, and Professional Services. This key role plays a vital part in delivering value on a global scale. You will design and execute sourcing strategies aligned with corporate objectives, manage a direct report, and ensure efficient local procurement activities in Belgium.
Key responsibilities:
* Represent the BC Sourcing department in the global General Services procurement, advocating for added value and implementing purchasing processes within BC.
* Manage General Services spend, focusing on short-term savings through spot buy reduction and long-term strategic sourcing.
* Partner with stakeholders to ensure early sourcing involvement in new projects and proactively assess opportunities.
* Develop strategies with the business to gain a competitive advantage in technology or cost.
* Prepare and run tenders, engaging relevant stakeholders.
* Generate revenue via productivity initiatives, rebates, and contract bonuses; build supplier relationships to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
* Manage contracts and supplier relationships, including negotiations.
* Support the implementation and ongoing management of Coupa, identifying opportunities for expansion and optimization.
* Lead the local buyer team, including management, coaching, and issue resolution in Belgium.
* Operational workload is approximately 10-15%.
* Support the Coupa rollout over the next 9-12 months.
About you:
* Minimum 8 years of experience in the relevant categories, with at least 3 years in strategic sourcing.
* Deep knowledge of sourcing methodologies and proven results.
* Experience interacting with C-suite executives.
* Skills in negotiation, supplier management, and procurement.
* At least 2 years of team management experience.
* Strong analytical skills for cost analysis and reporting.
* Experience with Coupa Source-to-Pay, especially during implementation.
* Project management skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management, with a global and culturally sensitive approach.
* Ability to work in complex, international environments and proactively handle challenges.
* Autonomous, reliable, and a team player.
* Willing to work remotely from Switzerland.
* Professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
