General Missions Reporting to the Production Director, the Bulk Production Manager will oversee all activities in the sector. They will set production goals respecting regulations, safety, quality, deadlines, and costs. They will focus on continuous productivity improvement, leveraging technical knowledge of processes. They will supervise, train, and motivate teams, supporting skill development. As a key player in product manufacturing, collaboration with all site departments is essential.
Responsibilities Ensure timely delivery of bulk lots according to the production schedule, reviewing and approving to guarantee high-quality products.
Manage manufacturing KPIs, ensuring targeted actions are taken.
Lead performance monitoring of the Bulk entity using various tools, Lean Manufacturing techniques, and monthly activity reviews.
Ensure manufacturing processes are well-documented and continuously improved, updating procedures and documentation as needed.
Oversee execution, traceability, and compliance of operations according to GMP standards. Analyze production data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
Conduct swift investigations into quality issues, ensuring root causes are identified, CAPAs are followed up, and effective corrective actions are implemented.
Represent the Bulk department during audits by health authorities (FDA, Swiss Medic, EMEA, etc.) and internal audits.
Comply with site EHS directives and instructions.
Mentor and manage direct reports, including supervisors, technicians, and operators, with documented development and succession plans.
Collaborate with your superior to define medium-term strategies for the Bulk department regarding activities, projects, and resource planning.
Ensure process compliance and facilitate information feedback.
Contribute to work organization and priority management.
Balance workload and capacity, anticipating needs.
Management Lead the team with regular communication through meetings, operational displays, and other channels.
Ensure downward communication from management.
Drive site projects with the team, setting clear qualitative and quantitative objectives.
Provide regular feedback, conduct annual reviews, and professional assessments.
Organize and optimize team functions, encouraging participation and engagement.
Develop team training plans to enhance skills, versatility, and performance.
Foster a positive work environment promoting trust, communication, and group cohesion.
Qualifications Solid practical knowledge to ensure compliance with GMP, FDA regulations, and applicable standards.
Technical training and process expertise are assets.
Organized, rigorous, and capable of leadership and coaching to maintain trust and responsibility.
Effective communicator at all organizational levels.
Proactive, autonomous decision-maker.
Proficient in common IT tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PAS-X.
Autonomous with on-site work capability.
Integrity and quality-oriented mindset.
Education Engineering degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy, or equivalent Mastère Spécialisé MIPSC (Management Industrial, Projects, Supply Chain).
Minimum 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in Bulk.
At least 5 years in management within a GMP environment.
Significant experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies and performance KPIs.
Languages: Fluent in French and English.
