Job Overview
The Project Manager is in charge for the successful project execution in time, cost and quality of projects within SHL Advantec. He/ she will hold end-to-end responsibility for assigned project from project intake/project planning, execution including end of validation/ handover to production. He/she will manage teams from cross-functional disciplines to ensure, that project requirements, deadlines, schedules and budget are managed within the set project goals. Overall responsibilities are planning, budget management, resource allocation as well as risk management and project team leadership.
Main Responsibilities
* Define project scope, objectives and major milestones in alignment with sponsor and internal program and product managers.
* Manage tasks and resources of a complex project with multiple sub-projects with depending tasks and forecast resources needed to reach objectives.
* Manage multiple projects with international scope of supplier, final location and customer arrangement and delegate responsibilities to project team members.
* Manage, monitor and handle project execution from remote and on-site including supplier site and final factory site short-term assignments
* Define and manage working packages, project phases and sub-projects to coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless project execution in time, cost and quality.
* Track and manage the project schedule and ensure the availability of deliverables on time. Track and manage the project budget according to the approved project order
* Create a meeting structure, communication process and regular reporting on budget, milestones, risk; establish an active communication channel to team members, stakeholders and customers
* Provide monthly reports to SHL Advantec head of project management and other stakeholders about milestones, budget status, deliverables, required adjustments and overall progress.
* Face to the customer for projects without program manager and matrix reporting to the program manager in projects that are part of a program
* Analyse, manage, monitor and document changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs and address claims that resulted from a change. Perform risk management and define mitigations to minimize project risks and escalate identified risks at an early stage.
* Organize and lead regular project team meetings to discuss project status, technical progress and coordinate tasks and resources to discuss and resolve project issues
* Organize project steering meetings with the defined steering team to oversee project status, provide guidance and advice
* Organize design review meetings and gate review meetings with local and global stakeholders
* Follow the global PM process with respect to harmonized global PM practices, methods and tools
* 5+ years’ experience in project management of development projects
* Native German speaker
* Good written and spoken English skills
* Profound knowledge of project management processes, methodologies and tools & techniques
* Experience in scheduling, management of project budgets and resource management
* Ability to create comprehensive reports on timeline, budget and quality status
* Experience with digital Project Management tools like MS Project
* Advanced time and risk management skills
* Advanced problem-solving skills
* Ability to encourage and enable people to work together as a team to reach common goals
* Ability to influence decisions that need to be made to make the project successful
* Willingness to travel. This position requires at least 25% of travelling.
Preferred Requirements
* PMP Certification preferred
* Automation or automotive background is a plus
