Mission
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Geneva. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully installing, managing, and maintaining database systems. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of our database infrastructure. Experience with Data Guard and RMAN is highly desirable, and familiarity with data lake implementation is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration
* Install, configure, monitor, and maintain database systems, including Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
* Perform database troubleshooting, including performance tuning, technical issue resolution, and backup/restore operations.
* Manage and administer corporate data to ensure consistency, accessibility, and security.
* Define and implement technical database architectures, including clustering, replication, and high-availability solutions.
* Provide database support for development teams, ensuring optimal performance and scalability of applications.
* Contribute to the design and implementation of data lake solutions (preferred but not mandatory).
Security & Compliance
* Adhere to and enforce the organization’s security framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
* Maintain a strong awareness of security best practices to protect the organization from vulnerabilities and potential exploits.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure database systems align with security and compliance requirements.
Collaboration & Innovation
* Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and deliver high-quality database solutions.
* Stay updated on emerging database technologies and trends, recommending improvements to existing systems and processes.
Skills & Experience
Experience
* Minimum of 3+ years of hands‑on experience in database administration.
* Proven expertise in managing and optimizing Sybase, Oracle, and SQL Server databases.
* Experience with Data Guard and RMAN is highly desirable.
* Experience in data lake implementation is a plus.
Technical Skills
* Proficiency in database management tools and technologies, including DataGuard, RMAN, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
* Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and high-availability solutions.
* Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.
Soft Skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
