The opportunity
To support the growth of our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team in Switzerland, we are hiring additional qualified professionals in Zurich/Basel. Specifically, we seek a Senior and/or a Manager to support our US-Focused Markets Group (US-FMG). This role involves developing and leading US GAAP and US capital markets-specific FAAS projects across various industries. It’s about listening to clients, asking insightful questions, and supporting areas where off-the-shelf solutions are unavailable.
Your key responsibilities
1. Collaborate with EY FAAS leadership in Switzerland and Germany to develop and implement client strategies to meet high expectations.
2. Work with other service lines and experts to deliver integrated solutions across functions in an international team.
3. Manage and deliver US GAAP / US capital markets FAAS projects and contribute to the growth of the US-FMG.
4. Ensure team understanding of client needs to develop clear, accurate, and client-focused deliverables.
5. Ensure timely delivery of work in compliance with regulatory standards.
6. Engage in and develop new opportunities for FAAS projects, solutions, and relationships.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify, you must have
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferably in Accounting/Finance) with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., US CPA preferred, Swiss CPA, ACCA, CFA).
* 4 to 7 years of experience in audit or consulting, focusing on US GAAP, PCAOB, SOX, SEC, and US capital market transactions.
* Advisory experience with capital markets transactions such as IPOs, debt listings, carve-outs, etc., is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of IFRS is a plus for GAAP conversion projects.
* Proven leadership in managing and mentoring high-performing teams.
* Strong technical writing skills and advanced risk management expertise.
* Proactive, flexible, team-oriented, with intellectual curiosity and willingness to go the extra mile.
* Ability to build and maintain networks in a fast-paced, international environment.
* Excellent English skills (spoken and written); German and French are a plus.
