Job Description
The Livingston County School System is seeking applications for substitute cafeteria, custodian and instructional assistant workers. Position Title: CUSTODIAN
Basic Function: The custodian is responsible to perform custodial work for the care, maintenance, protection, and preservation of school plant, its contents, and grounds.
Performance Responsibilities:
* Clean classrooms, departmental offices, teachers’ lunchroom, and guidance suite, performing minor repairs as needed. This includes washing desks, chairs and tables; aligning furniture; sweeping tile floors; vacuuming carpeted floors; cleaning sharpeners and wastebaskets; cleaning chalkboards, trays, and erasers; cleaning doors and doorplates; cleaning bookcases, desks, tables and other furniture; washing walls and glass surfaces; cleaning laboratory tables; cleaning window shades or blinds; cleaning light fixtures; sanding and varnishing or painting desks, tables, chairs; cleaning vents; and performing other custodial duties as assigned.
* Clean restrooms, performing minor repairs as needed. This includes cleaning and disinfecting commodes, urinals, sinks, and partitions; emptying waste containers; replacing paper towels and toilet tissue; cleaning soap dispensers; washing mirrors and fixtures; sweeping and wet mopping floors; scrubbing walls with disinfectant; vacuuming ceilings; and performing other restroom maintenance tasks.
* Clean stairways, entrance halls, and hallways. Sweep, dust, sweep mats, clean doors and doorplates, clean windows, and perform any light repairs.
* Clean music rooms, home economics area, shop area, administrative offices, kitchen, workroom, storage, furnace and medical rooms. Perform all cleaning tasks applicable from numbers one through three.
* Clean locker rooms and physical education rooms. Dust lockers, perform minor repairs.
* Clean auditorium. Sweep, scrub, wax, buff tile floors; vacuum carpeted areas; wash markings on chairs; clean stage; dust; repair light fixtures; clean doors and windows.
* Clean cafeteria (commons) area. Perform all cleaning tasks applicable from numbers one through six.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma, GED certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by the board of education. Daily schedule determined by the immediate supervisor.

Position Title: COOK/BAKER (SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAM)
Responsible to: School Nutrition Program Manager / Director of Food Service.
Basic Function: Prepare, cook, bake and serve a variety of foods in quantity at an assigned school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; train and provide work direction to others.
Performance Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparation and serving of food.
* Operate dishwasher and other equipment.
* Assist in setting up steam tables for food service.
* Work on the food serving line.
* Attend at least six (6) hours of annual continuing education/training.
* Perform other duties pertaining to the cafeteria as assigned.
* Understand oral and written directions.
* Work closely with other members of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma, GED or equivalent and one year food service experience; completion of required training course for certification of beginning school food service personnel per 702 KAR 6:045.

Basic Function: Assist under the supervision of a regularly employed teacher, directing learning experiences and supporting classroom activities.
Performance Responsibilities:
* Work with small groups to reinforce learning.
* Perform clerical duties similar to those of a regular teacher.
* Guide independent, enrichment and remedial work.
* Set up and use audio-visual media.
* Assist teacher with instructional and non-instructional duties.
* Check notebooks, correct papers, supervise testing and make‑up work.
* Assist with drill work.
* Assist in library and special areas.
* Develop and implement special strategies for reinforcing learning based on individual student needs.
* Serve as source of information for substitute teachers.
* Work as a team member under the supervising teacher.
* Check and record student attendance and academic progress.
* Participate in staff development and faculty activities.
* Perform administration of medication and other health services as instructed by a health professional.
* Perform any other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED with passing score on Para Educator Test, or an associate’s degree or higher.
Terms of Employment: Compensation established by board-approved salary schedule annually; annual contract.
