For our client, we are looking for a Process Maintenance Supervisor
The Process Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the hands‑on supervision and coordination of the Process Maintenance team supporting manufacturing operations across bulk solid dosage manufacturing (blending/compression / tableting/coating), spray drying operations, and packaging activities (blister and bottle formats).
This role requires a strong field presence, ensuring equipment reliability, rapid troubleshooting, and close collaboration with Production to secure operational performance and product quality.
In addition to operational leadership, the position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, technical upgrades, and maintenance optimisation projects across the manufacturing processes. The Supervisor manages the day‑to‑day maintenance activities, develops team competencies, and ensures compliance with GMP, EHS, and quality standards.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
* Provide direct supervision and daily coordination of the Process Maintenance team (technicians) with a strong presence on the production floor.
* Act as a hands‑on technical leader, supporting troubleshooting and complex interventions on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
* Develop team competencies through coaching, training, and performance follow‑up.
* Ensure appropriate resource allocation according to production priorities and maintenance needs.
* Collaborate closely with other maintenance departments, including Utilities, Metrology, Automation, and Maintenance Methods, to ensure alignment of strategies, priorities, and technical solutions.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary interventions when required and ensure effective communication between teams.
* Contribute to the harmonisation of maintenance practices, reliability approaches, and technical standards across departments.
* Ensure the reliability, efficiency, and availability of manufacturing equipment through optimised preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
* Manage maintenance planning and execution through the CMMS system (work orders, spare parts, documentation).
* Analyse equipment performance trends and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve OEE.
* Ensure maintenance interventions comply with GMP requirements and do not impact product quality or equipment qualification status.
* Lead and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance, reliability, and maintainability.
* Manage and follow up technical improvement projects, including modifications, upgrades, and optimisation of manufacturing processes.
* Participate in the implementation and qualification of new equipment in collaboration with Engineering, Production, and external vendors.
* Proactively identify opportunities for operational efficiency gains and cost reduction.
* Act as a key interface between Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Quality, and EHS departments.
* Participate in daily production meetings and provide technical expertise.
* Support Production teams in equipment settings, adjustments, and optimisation.
* Ensure full compliance with GMP, HSE regulations, and site procedures.
* Act as the EHS focal point for the Process Maintenance team.
* Promote safe behaviours and ensure risk assessments are performed when required.
Qualifications
Experience/Education
* Strong hands‑on experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, ideally in solid dosage, packaging and spray drying technologies.
* Minimum 8–10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry.
* Solid technical background in mechanical and electrical maintenance applied to production equipment and automated lines.
* Proven experience working in a shop‑floor / operational environment with direct involvement in troubleshooting and equipment interventions.
* Technical degree (Engineering Technician, Bachelor, or equivalent experience) in Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Strong field‑oriented mindset, with the ability and willingness to work close to operations and support teams directly on the production floor.
* Demonstrated people management and leadership capabilities, including team coordination, coaching, follow‑up performance, and motivation in a technical environment.
* Expertise across multiple maintenance disciplines with comprehensive knowledge of Solid dosage manufacturing equipment (compression, tableting, encapsulation), Primary and secondary packaging equipment and Spray drying equipment.
* Ability to analyse complex mechanical and electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective and sustainable solutions.
* Good knowledge of cGMP requirements, regulated environments, and maintenance best practices.
* Strong commitment to safety culture and compliance with EHS regulations.
* Fluent in French with good working knowledge of English (spoken and written).
* Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills in a fast‑paced production environment.
* Autonomous, proactive, and solution‑oriented with strong decision‑making abilities.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross‑functional teams.
* Service‑oriented mindset with a focus on operational performance and customer needs (internal stakeholders).
* Good computer literacy including CMMS systems and MS Office tools.
Leadership Activities
* Responsible for supervision/training of Technician – previous supervisory experience is required.
* Must be able to work unsupervised, and along with operators/engineers.
* Must be able to organise and lead training sessions on new equipment or procedures.
