As an Intern in the Front Office/Rooms Division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences and efficient operations within the hotel environment. This internship offers hands-on experience in various aspects of front office management, reservations, guest services, and overall rooms division operations. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights and practical skills in the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
* Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring smooth transitions for guests.
* Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
* Maintain a neat and organized front desk area, including lobby appearance.
* Assist in managing room reservations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
* Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest requests and preferences.
* Update reservation systems with current information and availability.
* Provide information to guests about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
* Assist guests with luggage handling, transportation arrangements, and other needs.
* Ensure guest satisfaction by anticipating and addressing their needs effectively.
* Assist in maintaining records, reports, and documentation related to front office operations.
* Support billing and payment processes, including handling cash and credit card transactions.
* Help in preparing daily reports and summaries for management review.
* Work closely with other departments such as housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage to ensure seamless guest experiences.
* Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, providing updates and seeking guidance when needed.
Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in a hospitality management program or related field.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
* Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in handling reservations and guest information.
* Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of reservation systems and MS Office Suite.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
