Engineering Team Leader - IGCT products 80 – 100% (f/m/d)
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Team Leader with technical background in electronics circuit design to spearhead our Bipolar Products development. This role responsibilities encompass leading a team of engineers and semiconductor experts, in the design, development, and optimization of state of the art IGCT devices with focus in gate driver development for grid applications, ensuring product excellence to meet market demands and strategic objectives.
How you’ll make an impact
Guide and drive a team of engineers in the design, simulation, and characterization for the development of new high reliable IGCT devices, including their control circuits.
Drive innovation in IGCT technology, identifying and implementing novel design architectures to improve performance, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness.
Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to mass production, including defining technical specifications, conducting design reviews, and managing development programs.
Establish and maintain best practices for design methodologies, testing procedures, and quality assurance within the team.
Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high performance.
Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing units, quality assurance teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless product transfer and robust manufacturing processes.
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies in power semiconductors and their application to inform product roadmap and strategic decisions.
Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and recommendations to senior management and cross‑functional teams.
Your background
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Solid‑State Physics, or a related field. PhD preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in electronics circuit design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role specifically focused on power semiconductor applications.
Deep understanding of power semiconductor device physics and characterization techniques of device performance.
Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Strong project management skills, including experience with project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with ability to work effectively in a global, cross‑functional team environment.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and reliability testing for semiconductor devices.
