The Business Applications Group plays a crucial role in supporting Partners Group's business processes through the investment value chain. We are responsible for administering, monitoring, and analyzing key applications to ensure their availability, development, customization, and ongoing enhancement.
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team based in Zug. This role involves designing and implementing data pipelines to curate sourced data into the in-house data warehouse.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
* Designing data models to align with data warehouse standards
* Analyzing relevant internally and externally sourced data to generate BI and Advanced Analytics datasets
* Curate sourced data into the in-house data warehouse
* Designing data marts to facilitate dataset consumption by business and IT stakeholders
* Migrating data from existing databases to the data warehouse
* Performing housekeeping of raw data and stored data
* Building and maintaining data pipelines and platforms
* Creating data solution prototypes
* Enhancing data quality and reliability
* Identifying opportunities to acquire better raw data
* Developing analytical tools to support BI and Data Analytics activities
Requirements
* Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
* 4+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles, preferably in finance
* Understanding of Agile frameworks like Kanban, SAFe, SCRUM
* Knowledge of ETL, data warehouse, BI, and Data Analytics concepts
* Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS RDS and AWS Fargate
* Proficiency with databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MS SQL
* Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python
* Experience with data modeling, including DataVault 2.0
* Practical experience with ETL tools like Talend
* Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication skills and team orientation
Desired Skills
* Knowledge of big data concepts for structured and unstructured data
* Certifications such as AWS Data Analytics or Machine Learning Specialty
* Knowledge of private markets
