Overview
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics of the University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship (Open Rank) in Large-Scale Systems. The position can be filled at any level (Assistant with Tenure-Track, Tenured Associate or Full Professor), starting at the earliest in Fall 2026.
Requirements
Candidates applying for an Assistant Professorship shall hold, at the time of appointment, a Ph.D. degree in computer science or a closely related field and have an excellent research record in large-scale systems. Candidates applying for Associate or Full Professorship shall demonstrate excellent teaching abilities at both undergraduate and graduate levels and have an internationally leading research profile in large-scale systems.
Responsibilities
* Conduct research in any of the following broad areas: Scalability and Performance; Systems for Data Science; System Design and Architecture.
* Teach a broad range of topics, in particular Database and Data Management Systems, Systems for Data Science and AI.
* Perform performance evaluation in line with DORA and the Open Science Policy of the University of Zurich.
