Through the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label, SIF has certified over 1,600+ Solutions that deliver measurable environmental and economic benefits. The Foundation supports political and economic decision-makers in developing ambitious energy and environmental roadmaps aimed at achieving carbon neutrality, while continually expanding its portfolio of Efficient Solutions across sectors, regions, and themes.
Team Overview
The Solutions Team plays a critical role in maintaining the credibility and impact of the Efficient Solution Label:
* 50% Process Coordination: Manage the labeling process with integrity, supporting innovators throughout the evaluation process, training and coordinating volunteer experts, and ensuring consistent, high-quality assessments.
* 50% Cross-Functional Technical Support: Engineers and environmental scientists in the team also contribute to other Foundation initiatives, including solution selection, technical content review, and scouting of innovative technologies for adoption by stakeholders.
Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated professional to support our Certification (Efficient Solution Label) process and provide technical assistance across cross-functional projects. The candidate will engage with high-level external stakeholders, including public and private collaborations partners, policymakers, and scientific experts. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and proactive to grow SIF’s impact. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking initiative, managing projects end-to-end, and representing the Foundation externally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Efficient Solution Label Process Coordination
* Review application files containing technical, environmental, and business information, including Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and business plans.
* Guide applicants through environmental impact assessments and ensure submissions meet quality standards.
* Act as the primary point of contact for applicants, providing updates, answering queries, and requesting additional information when needed.
* Coordinate internal reviews and validation of expert assessments to support labeling decisions.
* Develop and maintain clear communication materials and solution profiles for the Solution Explorer platform.
* Create or update training materials, guides, and webinars to help applicants navigate the process.
* Lead process improvement initiatives, identifying bottlenecks and proposing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
* Supervision of 2 junior team members.
2. Technical Support on Cross-Functional Projects
* Review and create technical documents and reports to ensure scientific accuracy.
* Lead or contribute to high-impact publications, reports, and thought-leadership initiatives.
* Support publications by liaising with selected solutions to collect materials.
* Conduct impact assessments estimating carbon reductions, resource savings, and other sustainability metrics.
* Research and identify promising clean technologies for specific challenges, recommending solutions for adoption by private and public stakeholders.
* Support the organization of events, exhibitions, B2B meetings, and matchmaking initiatives.
3. External Stakeholder Engagement
* Build and maintain relationships with partners, investors, government bodies, and scientific institutions.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic stakeholders, representing SIF in meetings, workshops, and events.
* Lead high-level discussions, facilitating partnerships and adoption of Efficient Solutions.
* Provide strategic input for high-level discussions, corporate sustainability programs, and collaborative initiatives.
* Support strategic projects involving multi-stakeholder collaborations and global initiatives.
* Co-organize high-profile events, exhibitions, and B2B meetings with partners and decision-makers.
Qualifications & Skills Required
* MSc Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or related disciplines.
* 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in sustainability, cleantech, or environmental consulting.
* Proven experience engaging with corporate, governmental, or academic stakeholders at a strategic level.
* Strong understanding of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies and environmental certification processes.
* Excellent English and French communication skills.
* Strong coordination, project management, and organizational abilities.
* Strategic thinker with initiative, creativity, and a “can-do” attitude.
