This newly created position offers the opportunity to work at the heart of an international business involved in complex commercial activities and large-scale projects.ResponsibilitiesAdvising on shipping finance transactions, including vessel acquisitions, sales, leasing structures and refinancing arrangementsDrafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, such as charterparties, financing documents, project contracts and service agreementsSupporting internal stakeholders on legal issues connected to operations, risk management, regulatory matters and strategic initiativesManaging external counsel and coordinating legal workstreams for international projectsContributing to the improvement of internal legal processes, templates and governance practicesEnsuring compliance with relevant laws, industry standards and company policies across multiple jurisdictionsYour ProfileWe are looking for a lawyer who enjoys combining analytical work with close interaction with business teams.QualificationsA legal qualification from the UK (Solicitor of England & Wales) or an equivalent common-law jurisdictionSeveral years of experience in shipping finance, asset finance, or commercial/transactional law, gained in a law firm or an international companyStrong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex agreementsA proactive mindset, sound judgment and the ability to navigate an international, fast-moving environmentExcellent communication skills in English; other languages are an assetWhat The Company OffersA dynamic position at the crossroads of legal, commercial and project activitiesExposure to cross-border matters and high-value transactionsA collaborative, multicultural working environmentThe opportunity to grow within a developing organisation
