Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel Lugano, Switzerland International Trading Company Overview An international trading company is looking to hire a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel (level depending on experience) to join its legal team in Lugano. The role offers broad exposure to shipping, commodities trading, and international commercial matters, working closely with the business on a day-to-day basis in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Provide legal advice on shipping and commodities trading matters Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts Support the business on sanctions, compliance, and regulatory matters Advise on project financing structures and joint ventures Manage disputes and litigation, including coordination with external counsel Respond to day-to-day legal queries from trading, operations, and management teams Assist with risk management and contract structuring for international transactions Profile 3–12 years PQE UK-qualified lawyer (England & Wales) Experience in shipping, commodities trading, or international trade law Strong drafting and negotiation skills Ability to work independently and interact directly with commercial teams Comfortable operating in a fast-paced trading environment Italian language skills are a plus What’s Offered Broad and commercially focused legal role Exposure to international trading activities Opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders in a dynamic organisation
