Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel Lugano, Switzerland International Trading Company Overview An international trading company is looking to hire a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel (level depending on experience) to join its legal team in Lugano . The role offers broad exposure to shipping, commodities trading, and international commercial matters , working closely with the business on a day-to-day basis in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Provide legal advice on shipping and commodities trading matters Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts Support the business on sanctions, compliance, and regulatory matters Advise on project financing structures and joint ventures Manage disputes and litigation , including coordination with external counsel Respond to day-to-day legal queries from trading, operations, and management teams Assist with risk management and contract structuring for international transactions Profile 3–12 years PQE UK-qualified lawyer (England & Wales) Experience in shipping, commodities trading, or international trade law Strong drafting and negotiation skills Ability to work independently and interact directly with commercial teams Comfortable operating in a fast-paced trading environment Italian language skills are a plus What’s Offered Broad and commercially focused legal role Exposure to international trading activities Opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders in a dynamic organisation
