R&D Electronics Engineer (Medical Devices).
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Medical Device Electronics Engineer to join our Engineering team near Zurich. This pivotal role requires a subject matter expert in electronics and embedded systems, with a specific focus on active implantable medical devices.
The successful candidate will assume comprehensive responsibility for the entire life cycle of electronic components, encompassing initial design through to meticulous performance analysis and verification. This role necessitates close collaboration with diverse cross-functional teams, including Regulatory Affairs and Manufacturing, to ensure the highest standards of technical excellence and unwavering compliance throughout the product life cycle.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional who possesses strong analytical capabilities, exceptional communication skills, and a structured, quality-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the primary subject matter expert for medical device electronics, embedded systems, and firmware development.
* Manage the complete life cycle of electronic components within active implantable medical device systems.
* Draft and implement change requests pertaining to electronic systems, in close coordination with Regulatory and Manufacturing departments.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation in strict adherence to the company’s quality management system.
* Provide expert technical support to the Regulatory and Quality Affairs teams.
* Execute rigorous component verification and in-depth technical performance analyses.
* Conduct thorough root-cause analyses for returned products and production non-conformities.
* Oversee and manage both internal and external resources within development projects.
Key Requirements
* Demonstrated proficiency in both digital and analog circuit design.
* Advanced skills in CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Proven capacity to present complex technical content clearly and in alignment with regulatory guidelines.
* Ability to perform effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of cross-functional teams.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
* Highly organized, reliable, and meticulously detail-oriented.
Required Education and Experience
* A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
* A minimum of 5 years of research and development experience within a highly regulated industry.
* Swiss, or EU Nationality. Alternatively existing right to work in Switzerland.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in medical device development.
* Demonstrable experience or strong theoretical knowledge in analog and digital signal processing and circuit design.
* Experience with low-power, battery-operated embedded systems.
