Our client is a top-tier family office managing complex cross-border investments. Reporting directly to the COO and CFO, you will have the unique opportunity to establish the accounting functions for the group, harmonize processes, and lead change initiatives, with the potential for senior management responsibilities in the future.
The ideal candidate should have a recognized accounting qualification and 2-3 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within a financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create an internal accounting function from scratch, moving away from external service providers, covering activities for two entities—one in Geneva and one abroad—including:
* Selection and implementation of an accounting system
* Designing workflows to manage the expense lifecycle, including:
o Invoice receipt
o Expense approval, subject to rules and limits
o Payment generation
o Payment approval and release, subject to rules and limits
o Bank reconciliation
o Integrating accounting data into Software / Portfolio Management Service to support internal systems
1. Building internal reporting systems to provide senior management with detailed insights into the business
2. Participating in other finance-related activities, including transfer pricing considerations
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Understanding of accounting principles, including double entry, accruals, prepayments, journals, general ledger design, and group consolidation
* Knowledge of Swiss tax and VAT; international tax knowledge is a plus
* Familiarity with Swiss stamp duty and regulatory requirements
* Highly numerate and detail-oriented
* Excellent communication skills in both French and English, verbal and written
* Proficiency in analyzing large datasets and tech-savviness with Excel
