Duarte is a communication agency and training firm – we help write, design, and deliver groundbreaking stories and visual presentations that inspire action. We are experts in using the communication to move people in moments that matter, from the epic to the everyday. Based on over 30 years of up-leveling communication for the world's most successful brands, our framework helps people articulate their ideas effectively using persuasive content, purposeful visuals, and polished delivery to drive your broader strategic goals. We’ve codified the knowledge we gain from the highest performing brands and executives in the world and transform the insights into a practical, research-backed methodology that can help anyone communicate their best.

Working at Duarte

At Duarte, we value teamwork, respect, creativity, learning, laughing, and long-lasting relationships. People who come to Duarte find more than a job. They find a home, a career, a calling. At our core, we are visual thinkers and storytellers. We are changing the way the world thinks about communication and the momentum is growing.

Working with the Strategy, Content, and Coaching Team

Big on brains, small on ego, we love to geek out about communication. We’re the team that helps leaders bring clarity to complexity – whether through sharp strategy, compelling content, or transformative coaching. We work independently and fast, but lean on each other for brainstorming, inspiration, camaraderie, and support. We are serious about solving communication problems, but don’t take ourselves too seriously. We’re always learning from each other, always laughing together, and always raising the bar. If you’re brilliant at what you do and fun to work with, we’re excited to learn all the ways you’ll complement our culture.

Role Summary

Our Content Developers write the content for our clients’ important communication moments, from presentations to reports. That’s the straightforward description. But who are they really? They’re storytellers, they’re archeologists, they’re magicians and maestros. They can artfully translate what someone wants to say (even when the client isn’t quite sure themselves) into a compelling story that resonates with the audience.

The output might be a sales deck, a corporate overview, an internal presentation, a keynote, an investor deck, a white paper, an annual report, a training, or any other key communication moment where our clients need support. In every case, our Content Developers bring creative problem-solving and imaginative thinking that stays true to our clients’ strategic goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Content Developer (Level II), you’ll lead client discovery meetings, generate creative concepts, determine the content’s structure and flow, write and revise the content, deliver your recommendations to clients (e.g., present the script with confidence and energy as if you were on the main stage), translate the written and spoken word into visuals, handoff your visual recommendations to Designers and Art Directors, and review files for quality assurance. Below you’ll find more details about the duties and responsibilities wrapped up in that process.

* Writes compelling content that embraces and champions the “Resonate” and “DataStory” communication principles.
* Develops content that accurately reflects client’s intent, connects with their audience, and makes imaginative use of the medium.

* Identifies potential barriers to success and artfully brings stakeholders to consensus.
* Manages confrontational situations and takes control in a professional manner.
* Builds relationships and rapport that creates ongoing demand from our clients.

Research and Analysis:

* Locates and summarizes the information in primary and secondary sources.
* Gathers relevant insights about the client, their target audience, competitors, and story landscape.

* Actively participants in internal brainstorming sessions, sharing ideas and pushing back while maintaining a positive group dynamic.

Creativity:

* Embraces and champions the “Slide:ology” principles and thinks visually about the best ways to communicate a message.
* Generates and merges creative ideas with clients’ highly technical information and strategic needs.
* Pushes beyond the “quick fix” or thinking there’s only one solution to a challenge.
* Represents Duarte, its capabilities, and its offerings accurately and with conviction.
* Inspires the best from project teams throughout concept development, content visualization, and design critiques.
* Has high standards for quality and ensures accuracy of own and others’ work.
