About the Role
We’re seeking a driven Ink Development Manager (m/w/d) with strong expertise in chemistry and inkjet technology. You’ll manage R&D projects, lead a talented team, and drive innovation from lab-scale to full production. Main Responsibilities
1. Lead and mentor the ink development team, promoting ownership, accountability, and continuous learning
2. Drive formulation, testing, and troubleshooting of inkjet ink products using strong chemical and application expertise
3. Use data-driven insights to propose product and process improvements
4. Manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, and ensure on-time delivery aligned with business goals
5. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, and Sales to meet market and technical needs
6. Maintain strong communication with customers and suppliers, managing relationships and regulatory compliance
7. Support smooth lab-to-production transfers, including audits and scale-up activities.
8. Oversee lab safety and chemical systems, contributing to company-wide compliance efforts
9. Promote and implement new technologies and methodologies (, DOE) to enhance development
10. Source advanced raw materials in collaboration with suppliers
What You Need to Be Successful
11. Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
12. 5+ years of experience in ink development, inkjet formulation, or related R&D functions
13. Experience leading technical teams and managing cross-functional projects
14. Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
15. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both internal and external
16. Familiarity with regulatory compliance, customer audits, and production handover processes
17. Inkjet background is a plus
18. Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis
19. Knowledge of chemical safety, lab-scale operations, and HSE systems
20. Experience working with customers and suppliers.
21. Proficiency in German and English
