Job Description Summary
As a Field Service Engineer (m/f/d), you are responsible for providing technical support to our customers in the division Waters Advanced Diagnostics during the pre‑sales and post‑sales phases – mainly within the Romandy area, with support for overall Switzerland.

Specifically, you are responsible for the complex and technically advanced products of BD Kiestra™ Laboratory Automation, as well as blood culture, and microbiology systems. This completes the full support of our customer base in your assigned territory. Additionally, we offer the opportunity for occasional international assignments for the product groups trained on.

With excellent service – including corrective and preventive maintenance, hardware upgrades, software updates, basic operator training, and efficient handling of escalated incidents and customer inquiries – you ensure outstanding customer satisfaction.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
In this role, you enhance customer satisfaction, drive problem resolution, and ensure long‑term system stability. Your specific responsibilities include:

Performing installations, repairs, maintenance, and upgrades on‑site at customer locations, primarily within your assigned region

Prioritizing, planning, and executing your activities according to our processes and established customer service level agreements

Maintaining your personal tool and spare parts inventory at an appropriate level for successful task execution

Managing escalations and resolving complex technical issues reported by the Customer Service Desk, customers, and local service organizations

Conducting basic technical training sessions for customers

Performing instrument failure analyses, screenings, and follow‑up activities to continuously improve system reliability

Documenting and maintaining all relevant data in BD service management systems to ensure optimal data accuracy and high‑quality customer reporting

Requirements (Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Competencies)

You have completed a technical degree or equivalent qualification in a technical field (e.g., vocational training in medical technology, electronics, mechatronics, etc.) or experience with high‑tech devices.

You possess strong knowledge in computers, networking, electronics, precision mechanics, and automation; additional knowledge in molecular technology is an advantage.

You have a quick grasp of complex topics and easily familiarize yourself with technically challenging subjects, working independently and purposefully.

You have business‑fluent French and fluent English skills. German language is an advantage.

Located within Romandy area or willing to relocate.

You hold a valid European driver’s license.

You are willing to travel extensively (>80%) within your assigned territory—including regular overnight stays—and are comfortable with occasional travel within Europe.
