The Program Manager oversees daily contract execution to ensure cost, schedule, performance, and risk reduction goals are met. Responsibilities include leading meetings and the integrated product team from project initiation to closeout, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders regarding contracts and proposals.
Essential Duties:
* Manage and direct daily contract execution to meet goals
* Lead all meetings and the integrated product team from kick-off to project close
* Coordinate communication with customers on contracts and proposals
* Participate in bid and proposal activities, ensuring RFP requirements are met
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities with Business Development
* Represent management at reviews, meetings, and seminars
* Prepare for negotiations, ensuring compliance with regulations
* Develop and control project plans, schedules, and budgets; report status to management
* Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks throughout the program lifecycle
* Develop and implement root cause and corrective action plans
* Support Earned Value Management assessments and perform variance analysis
* Act as primary interface with customers and resolve contractual issues
* Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
* Provide leadership and foster communication within the program team
* Manage inventory and R&D projects
* Ensure timely program closeout and documentation
* Understand and develop program metrics and planning principles
* Apply lean and process improvement principles
* Manage cash flow and be available for travel as needed
* Promote organizational mission, values, and culture
* Adhere to quality and safety standards
* Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; engineering or business preferred. Program Management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus. Minimum ten years of experience managing complex aerospace/defense programs across all lifecycle phases, including proposal development, risk management, and performance improvement. Proven success in managing programs for military organizations with a focus on financial objectives.
Additional Requirements:
This role requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; active clearance preferred. Access to export-controlled data necessitates eligibility under ITAR or EAR regulations; applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible for export licenses.
