Shift: Staggered shift with 3 people. On call every 3 weeks rotating 2‑3 weeks. Standard shift of 8 hrs/day with overtime as applicable.

Local training in Bridgeport / Canonsburg. Local candidates must be able to reach the shop on call for after‑hours / weekend coverage.

Skills Required:
Forklift / Overhead Crane / Break‑out machine operations – training available for those without prior experience.
Logistics experience with ability to load/unload trucks.
Computer proficiency to maintain records and update business systems.
Interviews
Interviews will be conducted via phone/video conference with 2 rounds. The second round will be IN PERSON.
Role Overview
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the domestic or international movement of assets, products, and materials upon request of the Business Line. Responsibilities include:
Act as the BL's logistics focal point for their logistics movements.
Validate transport requests and required delivery dates for a defined geographic region or lane(s) to achieve on‑time delivery.
Prepare equipment load plans per planning SOP to maximize rental and call‑out equipment utilization.
Leverage planning and use rate checker tools to achieve competitive costs by applying preferred contracted rates.
Plan effective shipment/truck routings, leverage consolidation/cargo optimization, and maximize back‑load opportunities to drive down costs.
Monitor shipment execution, track shipment movements and manage deviations with logistics suppliers while keeping internal stakeholders updated.
Manage weekly fixed schedules and regional milk runs.
Issue work orders before each move with associated cost approvals.
Identify logistics network improvement projects or opportunities.
Ensure full compliance of transports with international transport regulations.
Monitor cargo moves status and performance and investigate deviations.
Implement proactive and corrective measures combined with appropriate communication when early warning signs of deviation are detected.
Assess carrier performance with respect to on‑time delivery and on‑time pickup.
Manage international or domestic logistics movements ensuring compliance with client policies and processes as well as local regulations including finance, personnel, LTC guidelines and QHSE.
Ensure proper storage of electronic documents in the system.
Act as the interface with the Import/Export Teams and assure smooth communication flow between parties.
Participate in the performance analysis meeting.
Monitor and capture logistics milestone data in the business system.
Report any deviation in QUEST and follow up on action plan to ensure continuous improvement on service quality.
Obtain the necessary freight cost approval from the Business line representatives and shortlist offers from Freight Forwarders in the bidding system.
Logistics Specialist can report into a Logistics Manager or Logistics Supervisor at GeoUnit or SCC (LCT or DSC) based on the specific location of the role.
