European Healthcare Platform | Buy-and-Build Strategy

The Platform
Our client is a leading European healthcare services platform operating a decentralised, partner-led model across multiple markets. The group combines strong local entrepreneurship with centralised strategic, financial, and operational support, enabling sustained organic and inorganic growth while preserving clinical autonomy at the operating level.

Inorganic expansion is a core value driver. The platform executes a high-volume, repeatable acquisition strategy across established and new European markets, supported by local management teams and a central Group M&A function that defines strategy, governs execution, and leads geographic expansion.

The Role
The platform is seeking a Senior M&A manager to strengthen its Group M&A team. Reporting to the C-level office, the role carries responsibility for shaping and executing the group’s acquisition strategy across existing markets, while also leading entry into new geographies.

You will operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and stakeholder management, overseeing end-to-end transaction processes, supporting and challenging local teams, and ensuring disciplined capital deployment in line with the group’s long-term value creation plan.

Key Responsibilities

Define and continuously refine the M&A strategy across existing markets, translating business strategy and historical performance into clear acquisition criteria and prioritisation frameworks

Steer and oversee end-to-end M&A processes in collaboration with local country teams, including sourcing, initial engagement, valuation, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, signing, and closing

Act as a senior transaction lead, supporting and challenging local teams and external advisors to ensure efficient execution, robust governance, and consistent deal quality

Lead the evaluation and execution of new market entries, including assessment of market fundamentals, regulatory environments, competitive landscapes, and scalable operating models

Build and maintain a strong network of advisors, industry participants, and intermediaries to support both bolt-on acquisitions and strategic expansion opportunities

Prepare high-quality investment papers and transaction summaries, synthesising strategic, financial, operational, and legal considerations into clear recommendations for senior management and decision-making bodies

Support integration planning at transaction level, ensuring alignment between deal rationale, value creation levers, and post-closing execution

Represent the group in discussions with entrepreneurial operating partners, senior advisors, and counterparties across jurisdictions

Key Stakeholders

CFO (direct reporting line) and Group M&A / Corporate Finance colleagues

Local country management and dedicated in-market M&A teams

Senior management and board-level stakeholders

External advisors, including legal, financial, and commercial due diligence providers

Founder-led and entrepreneur-owned operating partners

Candidate Profile

5-8 years of transaction experience in M&A, with a background in investment banking, private equity, or top-tier transaction advisory

Strong exposure to buy-and-build or platform-driven acquisition strategies; healthcare experience is an advantage but not essential

Proven ability to lead complex, multi-jurisdictional M&A processes with multiple stakeholders

Strong commercial judgement and structuring capability, with a disciplined approach to valuation and risk assessment

Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, decentralised environment while maintaining standardsli>

Ability to synthesise complex information and communicate clearly with diverse audiences, including founders, clinicians, advisors, and senior executives

Resilient, execution-focused, and able to maintain momentum in fast-paced, high-volume deal environments

Excellent English proficiency; additional European languages are a strong advantage

Willingness to travel across Europe as required

What’s on Offer

Competitive, merit-based compensation with performance-linked upside

High degree of autonomy and ownership within a central value-creation function

Direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making

Opportunity to shape and scale a pan-European healthcare platform through disciplined M&A execution

Collaborative, international environment with strong professional development opportunities
