Employee Relations / HR Specialist - Long-Term Sick Leave Case Management Location: Switzerland Contract Duration: 6 months Start: As soon as possible Languages: German - must have; English fluent. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations / HR Specialist to manage and support long-term sick leave cases across the organization. This role requires strong case management capabilities, excellent communication skills, and in-depth knowledge of the Swiss social insurance landscape, including health (KVG), accident (UVG), disability (IV), and income compensation (EO) systems. Acting as a trusted advisor, the specialist will ensure legal compliance, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and guide employees through the sick-leave and reintegration process with professionalism and empathy. Key Responsibilities Case Management Oversee and coordinate long-term sick leave cases from initial notification through return-to-work or transition to disability benefits. Maintain continuous communication with employees, healthcare providers, HR, and line managers. Document all case updates and ensure accurate, confidential record-keeping. Social Insurance Expertise Advise on Swiss social insurance processes (KVG, UVG, IV, EO, etc.) and ensure correct application of entitlements. Support the company in adhering to Swiss labor law and internal policies related to sick leave, absence management, and reintegration. Liaise with insurers and social insurance institutions to clarify benefits and next steps. Reintegration Support Develop individualized return‑to‑work plans in collaboration with HR, managers, insurers, and medical partners. Monitor progress and adjust reintegration measures when needed. Ensure a smooth and sustainable transition back to the workplace. Stakeholder Communication Serve as the main point of contact for employees, managers, and external partners. Provide guidance and training on best practices for managing long-term absences. Offer consultation to managers on sensitive employee relations matters connected to sick leave cases. Qualifications & Skills In-depth knowledge of Swiss social insurance systems and regulations (KVG, UVG, IV, EO). Proven experience in case management, employee relations, HR advisory, or a related field-ideally within healthcare, insurance, or HR services. Strong understanding of Swiss labor law as it relates to sick leave, reintegration, and disability. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. High level of empathy, discretion, and professional judgment in sensitive situations. Fluent in German and English ; French is an advantage.
