For our client, a global leader in the life sciencesindustry based in Visp, we are looking for a Piping CategorySpecialist and Buyer.
The Piping Global Category Expert isa pivotal role responsible for managing procurement categoryactivities for major investment projects. This role coordinateswith Capex Lead Buyers and Piping Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) toplan and execute high-complexity projects, primarily at the Vispsite, ensuring technical excellence and commercialefficiency.

Tasks &Responsibilities
* Category Strategy &Execution: Execute and update overall category strategies,including the definition of targets and bundling procurementmeasures across various globalsites.
* End-to-End StrategicSourcing: Lead large and complex RFQ packages from inception tocompletion. Support the team with category-specific benchmarks anddetailed costbreakdowns.
* TechnicalProcurement: Manage the procurement of piping bulk materials,fittings, flanges, supports, insulation, and passivation, as wellas piping installation services anddesign.
* SupplierRelationship Management (SRM): Develop relationship plans with keypartners, manage strategic key accounts, and evaluate new suppliersto ensure capacity andquality.
* Project Management:Act as a core member of the Global Category Team for Construction,Fit-out, and Automation. Maintain weekly updates for packageswithin the Procurement Management Plan(PMP).
* Market Intelligence& Risk: Monitor technological and regulatory trends. Scan themarket to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks while deliveringreports on lead times andpricing.
* Contract & CostOptimization: Negotiate and maintain framework agreements. Focus onLife Cycle Cost (LCC) optimization and the reduction of material,transport, and ancillary costs.
Qualifications
* Education: Preferably anEngineering degree by training. An advanced degree in Supply Chain,Business, or Economics is aplus.
* Industry Experience:At least 3 years in Pharma, Biotech, or similar sterileenvironments (e.G., semiconductors/cleanrooms).
* Technical Expertise:Minimum 2 years of experience tendering complex, large-scale pipingor mechanical packages within a GMPenvironment.
* CategoryManagement: Proven track record of at least 2 years in categorymanagement, including the successful creation and implementation ofa category strategy.
* MarketKnowledge: High level of expertise in the EU, UK, and specificallythe DACH region market for piping and mechanicalcategories.
* Soft Skills:Advanced negotiation skills and excellent stakeholder managementcapabilities to navigate a global matrixorganization.
* PreferredAssets: Fluency in German, experience with Swiss Pharma Capexprojects, claims management experience, and familiarity with Agileproject management.
