Overview
Do you bring hands on experience working within an NGS Laboratory? Are you comfortable managing samples through the sequencing process? If this sounds like you and you are driven by purpose, join the SOPHiA GENETICS Research & Development Team as an NGS Lab Technician, enabling us to make a positive impact on cancer and rare disease patients worldwide. The role is based in Rolle, CH, with on-site work required up to 5 days per week. NB: We are looking for 1 colleague on a permanent basis, and 1 colleague for a 1-year contract (with the possibility of a permanent outcome).
Responsibilities
* Conducting sample preparation for NGS experiments, including DNA and RNA extraction, quantification, and quality control.
* Performing NGS library preparation, including DNA fragmentation, adapter ligation, and PCR amplification.
* Operating and maintaining NGS instruments, such as sequencers and sequencer robots.
* Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
* Maintaining accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
* Collaborating with other team members to optimize and troubleshoot experimental protocols.
* Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and quality control standards.
Requirements
* BA or MSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc.). Candidates with CFC will also be considered.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a molecular biology laboratory setting, preferably with NGS techniques.
* Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment, such as pipettes, centrifuges, and thermal cyclers.
* Familiarity with NGS library preparation protocols and sequencing technologies.
