Process Engineer Vulcanizing Global
Main Roles and Activities
* Own the vulcanizing process chain globally, including creation and maintenance of production and process documentation.
* Manage projects or support project creation of standardized specifications for asset procurement, conversions, or problem-solving globally.
* Support the development of process monitoring tools for vulcanizing process chains.
* Develop and implement optimization solutions to improve process stability, product quality, economic efficiency, and safety.
* Act as a subject matter expert and conduct training on vulcanization processes and elastomers for Product Managers, Designers, Quality, and Process Engineers.
* Collaborate with vulcanization areas to analyze and optimize processes, eliminate waste, and demonstrate improvements through continuous improvement tools.
* Engage in international exchanges with production sites and suppliers.
* View unforeseen situations as opportunities and find ways to achieve goals.
Key Experiences
* Deep knowledge of vulcanizing processes, tools, elastomers, chemistry, and process technology, including equipment engineering.
* Experience in preparing system documentation, work instructions, and learning materials.
* Established network with suppliers, customers, and external experts.
Competencies
* Proven project management experience in the industry.
* Experience with ERP systems, ideally D365.
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, materials, chemicals, or similar).
* Knowledge of mould making for plastics is an advantage.
* Experience in the plastics/rubber/polymer processing industry, e.g., tyre or O-ring manufacturing.
* Experience in process analysis and optimization.
* Knowledge of statistical design of experiments, failure analysis, and yield improvement is advantageous.
* Basic chemistry knowledge is a plus.
* Willingness to travel.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills in German and English for cooperation across production and global sites.
* Ability to see challenges as opportunities and find solutions.
