This leader works at the intersection of business strategy, technology, product management, and research and development (R&D), ensuring the company maintains its competitive edge through forward-thinking solutions and the exploration of emerging trends. This role also manages the R&D budget and ensures funds are allocated effectively. A structured process for engaging the right stakeholders will be key to success.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnology: Lead identification, selection, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies aligned with the division’s priorities. Collaborate on IT governance, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and digital transformation initiatives. Evaluate and integrate new platforms, tools, and systems to improve operational efficiency and customer value. Consider ROI to ensure investments deliver tangible outcomes.Innovation: Design and implement frameworks for innovation, guiding ideas from conception to commercialization. Establish systems to capture, evaluate, and prioritize ideas. Build external partnerships with startups, academia, and technology providers. Monitor industry trends and competitive intelligence to inform strategic direction.Product Management: Set the vision and roadmap for new product development and enhancement of existing products. Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and sales to ensure cohesive execution. Define and track product metrics (adoption, engagement, retention, revenue) and champion agile development, rapid prototyping, and iteration from market entry to sunset.R&D: Lead a balanced R&D portfolio (incremental improvements, disruptive innovations, blue-sky research). Secure and manage funding (grants, investments, partnerships). Promote publication, patenting, and presentation of outcomes. Ensure strong alignment between R&D and product management; balance short- and long-term goals with business priorities.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with regional and global teams to ensure alignment and scalability. Drive synergies with the BA Technology team.QualificationsMinimum 15 years of experience in technology, product management, and innovation leadership, ideally in fast-paced or tech-driven industries. Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, innovation management, or related fields. Experience ideating, launching, and scaling successful technological products and services. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
