We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Air Export Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will execute operational and customer service activities for airfreight shipments in accordance with company instructions and guidelines. You will manage pre- and post-flight dispositions, coordinate and monitor pickups and deliveries, ensure customs clearance, and oversee all shipment-related activities, taking proactive action in case of delays or irregularities. The role also includes capturing and maintaining shipment data in AS400/CargoWise1, following up on shipments, and providing timely feedback to customers. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver top-class customer service and ensure smooth, efficient airfreight operations.
These are your key tasks:
* Deliver "top in class" customer service to internal and external customers in line with company guidelines
* Accept transport orders, manage bookings, prepare transport documents, coordinate pickups and deliveries, handle customs clearance, issue invoices, and provide timely customer feedback
* Procure and negotiate competitive transport rates and capacity with airlines and other service providers, respond to quotes, and support profitable business development
* Monitor and control service performance with external partners, provide real-time shipment tracking, and proactively communicate any delays or irregularities
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, participate in customer events, and support sales with joint visits
* Ensure compliance with company, HSE, and industry regulations, especially for special cargo
* Capture and manage all operational data in AS400 / CargoWise1, establish documents accurately, and maintain shipment records
* Collaborate with colleagues across departments, support new business implementation, and actively contribute to continuous process improvement
Requirements
* Successful completion of 2nd level education ("Sekundarschule" or equivalent); Diploma as "Speditionsfachmann/-fachfrau" or equivalent in logistics/transportation
* Proven experience in airfreight operations, customer service, and optionally in sales or marketing
* Valid driver's license; DG/GDP training is an advantage
* Strong IT skills, including AS400 and/or CargoWise1, and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Fluent in German and English (oral and written); additional languages such as French or Italian are a plus
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service mindset and commercial awareness
* Flexible, proactive, able to prioritize under pressure, precise, self-motivated, and a team player
* Willingness to participate in "own handling" activities as needed
